Sustainability is a big buzzword these days. Everyone is looking for ways to help the environment, including yacht owners. If you’re the proud owner of a yacht, you probably want to do your part to make sure you aren’t doing damage while on your voyages. Here are a couple of tips to help you make your yachting more eco-friendly.

Maintain Your Yacht

A neglected yacht is more likely to pollute the waterways it enters, due to build-up on its hull or a leaking oil or fuel reservoir. Make sure that you’re staying on top of regular yacht maintenance tasks so that you know whether your craft needs repairs. You can always get in touch with the service department here at Arrowhead Yacht Club & Marina if you’d like to make an appointment with us.

Clean Up After Yourself

Don’t throw trash, recycling, or compostable items into the water, no matter where you are. If you’re on a dock or on a beach, you’ll also want to clean up after yourself if you eat meals or make repairs to your yacht.

Avoid Disturbing Wildlife

Some waterways may have areas marked off that you should avoid entering while yachting. Please respect any signage that indicates endangered wildlife and don’t trespass.
